Ever get lost in the woods? ever get lost in the woods even with a map and now want to know how to read it. Here is the chance to learn the skills you need to read that map and get someplace. If you have a compass bring it. If you know what a scale is and have one bring it. If you have neither then you will know enough to go get them after the class. This class is for the novice to learn how to read a USGS 7.5 minute map and the corresponding Geologic Quadrant Map (GQ). This class is for anyone that would like to learn enough to get out into the woods and start doing a few simple hikes or understand the geology in an area.
